Boosting financial literacy globally in 2023

Sun Life seeks to help empower people to pursue their financial goals. In 2023, we elevated our financial literacy educational efforts globally.

Canada

  • Hosted financial wellness webinar series on budgeting, retirement planning and investing for Sun Life Canada Group Retirement Services (GRS) Clients.
  • Provided GRS Clients with information and advice, by email, to strengthen their financial literacy and encourage them to save for the future. This information was shared during Financial Literacy Month in Canada.
  • Launched the Sun Life One Plan digital tool on mysunlife.ca for Clients to track their goals in real-time when working with a Sun Life advisor.

U.S.

  • Helped members learn about their benefits and how our products like life insurance (estate planning), disability (income replacement) and supplement health (cover health expenses) can help protect their financial future and their families during moments that matter.

Asia

  • Sun Life Malaysia launched the 'Did You Know' explainer video series, featuring eight short videos released in phases from September to November 2023 across its various social media platforms. The videos aimed to dispel common misconceptions surrounding insurance and Takaful protection.
  • Sun Life Indonesia educated over 3,000 people through workshops, webinars and in-class activities on financial management, investment and insurance.
  • Sun Life Indonesia collaborated with Kompas TV, one of the country’s most reputable news TV stations, to create and broadcast financial talks.
  • Sun Life Grepa Financial rolled out the “Bright Beginnings” campaign in the Philippines to promote financial plans as a way to secure a brighter future.
  • Sun Life Philippines renewed its collaboration with Smart Communications Inc. to roll out additional financial literacy training nationwide.
  • Sun Life Philippines partnered with Wish 107.5FM radio for a fun, educational road show to benefit Gen Z and Millennial Filipinos. Dubbed as “Wish Upon a Sun: Kasa-Kasama Sa Roadtrip”, the collaboration provided valuable insights into financial literacy while promoting the best of the country’s music scene.
