Sun Life’s sustainability ambition is to maximize our positive impact on society and the environment, while creating value for our business. Sustainability is a priority for Sun Life and is essential to our business's success. We want to contribute to a healthier, more financially resilient, environmentally secure, and economically prosperous world.

We have imbibed it as one of its key pillars and is a way of doing business. Through the last few years, we have undertaken a variety of sustainability initiatives for the betterment of our surroundings and our planet.

Caring for our planet:

1. Renewable energy 5-6% (2023) Solar power: Total Units Generated till 2023 : 68472 KWH.
2. Reduction in carbon emissions by EVs (1320 Trips / 25419Kms carried out in year 2023 by EVs).
3. EV Charging Station installed and in usage by Sun Life.
4. ~2,200 trees planted in Sun Life Forest Creation (2023). Releasing ~1250 Tones* of O2 & Sequestering ~1500 Tones* of CO2 *Approximate value taken in their entire lifespan (the average lifespan of a tree is 20-25 years) and calculations are done as per research, articles and guidelines of IPCC and FSI.
5. RO Wastewater generated being used for secondary purposes using STP filtration. 296 kgs disposed till 2023 through reverse vending machines - installed for proper disposal of single use plastic
6. 3415 Kgs food waste converted through bio compost machine (YTD Nov'23)
