NIA and Sun Life embark on new research partnership to improve financial security for older Canadians
Sun Life and the National Institute on Ageing (NIA) have partnered to identify barriers to financial security for older Canadians and find solutions that can help overcome them.
Sun Life will contribute $300,000 over three years to support research on key financial, health and mental issues that Canadians in the long-term care system are experiencing. One focus area will be the challenges some plan members face in accessing savings from their pensions. That includes some situations where pension payments or communications are not being received by members because of loss of contact information by plan administrators.
The goal of this work is to find solutions that can help decrease unclaimed pension assets.
Sun Life is increasing financial security through advocacy, access, and education as part of its sustainability plan.
