Sun Life Appoints Bennet Li as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Asia

HONG KONG, 20 March 2025 - Sun Life Financial Inc. (TSX: SLF) (NYSE: SLF) today announced the appointment of Bennet Li as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Asia, effective immediately. In this role, Bennet will report to Tim Deacon, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Manjit Singh, President of Sun Life Asia.

As CFO for Asia, Bennet will be responsible for aligning Sun Life's financial strategies, operational processes, and capital allocation across the region. He will focus on driving finance strategic objectives to accelerate growth in Asia and deliver long-term value for shareholders.

Bennet has been interim CFO for Sun Life Asia since September 2024. He joined Sun Life in 2002 and has held various leadership positions across Finance, Actuarial, and Group Benefits and Retirement Services in both Asia and Canada. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Head of Strategic Finance and Country Manager for Mainland China.

Bennet will be based in Sun Life’s Regional headquarters in Hong Kong and will join the Asia Executive Team.  He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.
