As vice president of Marketing & Client Experience Officer, Ed Milano oversees the communication and constant improvement of how Sun Life makes care and benefits easier for clients. Ed leads a team that provides many central functions, including brand strategy, design, client analytics and insights, public relations, social media, employee communications, philanthropy, sponsorships and events. Throughout his tenure at Sun Life, he has fostered practices that give Sun Life’s clients the opportunity to influence how solutions are developed and delivered.
Ed led brand and marketing integration efforts following the acquisition of Assurant Employee Benefits in 2016. Prior to joining Sun Life, he spent 17 years at Continuum, a global innovation and design consulting firm, where he was managing vice president, Sales and Marketing. He also held senior account management positions at two leading advertising agencies.
Ed is an ardent supporter of Sun Life’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and initiatives, and is the executive sponsor of the Sun Life Pride Inclusion Network. He serves as a volunteer director for Agncy, a non-profit consulting firm that uses design and innovation practices to advance social equity. Ed holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern University.
