Jennifer Collier

President, Health & Risk Solutions Sun Life U.S.

As president of Sun Life’s Health and Risk Solutions business, Jen Collier leads the largest independent medical stop-loss business in the country as well as health-connected services that help people access the care and coverage they need. As a registered nurse with an MBA in finance and marketing, Jen’s extensive expertise in both clinical and business management helps Sun Life's employer clients and their employees achieve better health outcomes and manage the cost of care.

A passionate advocate for improving the healthcare experience, Jen oversaw the 2021 acquisition of PinnacleCare, a care navigation company that provides personal care advisors to help people access the right diagnoses, doctors, and treatments for their specific medical needs. This led to the launch of Health Navigator powered by PinnacleCare, allowing Sun Life to provide care navigation services and work directly with a member to guide them through their healthcare journey.

Jen is also responsible for Sun Life’s industry-leading stop-loss business, which helps self-funded employers manage their employee health plans while supporting employees. Programs include Clinical 360, which combines data analytics and clinical expertise to identify cost-savings opportunities and improved treatment options, and the stop-loss annual research report, which provides insights on healthcare trends and medical conditions using Sun Life’s vast claims database.

Jen joined Sun Life U.S. in June 2019 after 18 years with Cigna, where she most recently served as chief operating officer for Cigna’s middle markets business. She held several senior leadership positions at Cigna in U.S. commercial healthcare, spanning national accounts to small business lines, and including clinical operations, strategic implementation, underwriting and stop-loss.

An ardent supporter of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), Jen serves as the executive sponsor of HOLA (Hispanic Organization for Leaders and Achievers), one of Sun Life’s Inclusion Networks. She is also a representative of Sun Life’s Global Sustainability Executive Council.

Jen received her nursing degree from Saint Joseph College and her MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business. She is a member of the board of directors of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA).
