Tony Mollica

Tony leads one of the largest dental benefits providers in the U.S. by membership, and the largest Medicaid dental administrator, helping millions of people access quality oral healthcare. Sun Life Dental, which includes DentaQuest, designs dental and vision insurance programs for every segment; from Medicaid, CHIP and Medicare Advantage programs to employer-sponsored and healthcare marketplace plans. Tony also is responsible for the management of care delivery at affiliated, provider-owned Advantage Dental+ practices.

With more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience across all aspects of health plan operations, Tony promotes a member-first mindset focused on improving health outcomes. He has a proven track record of driving sustainable business growth, including organic, strategic market expansion initiatives.

In his Sun Life role, Tony is responsible for strategic direction and advancing the organization’s competitive position in the market through differentiated managed care approaches that balance quality, access and cost. Under his leadership, the Dental business will continue to deepen relationships with key stakeholders, expand membership, increase retention strategies and design innovative programs that improve member experiences and health outcomes.

Prior to joining Sun Life, Tony served in various senior leadership roles at Humana, culminating with his position as CEO of iCare, a wholly owned subsidiary.

Before Humana, Tony held clinical operations and product leadership positions at UnitedHealth Group, where he led multidisciplinary teams and strategic initiatives for nearly two-million members.

Tony earned a Master of Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University and a Master of Science in Communication and Organizational Development from Illinois State University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
