Commissions are tracked through Sun Life in the same way as all other Sun Life groups. During sold case paperwork, we collect the broker and general agent (if applicable) in the Small Business Digital Marketplace.
General Agencies can grant access to brokers and admin team members on a per-group basis, enabling collaboration throughout quoting, sale, and enrollment.

Sun Life requires a 10-business-day timeline once we receive the implementation information. You will be unable to quote a group with an effective date within this window.
A census is not required to generate accurate quotes for all coverages, including life and disability. This will change in mid-May.
Yes. Brokers or agencies upload the group’s census information during implementation into the Small Business Digital Marketplace platform, InsuranceMenu.
Yes. Products quoted through the Small Business Digital Marketplace platform, InsuranceMenu, can later be enrolled using Employee Navigator after the initial census is completed in the platform during implementation. Brokers may continue to use their existing enrollment workflows.
During implementation, brokers or agencies select the plans sold and upload census information into the Small Business Digital Marketplace platform, InsuranceMenu. If you are a general agency, you can invite the broker and employer administrator to collaborate on install paperwork. The licensed agent and administrator will receive a DocuSign package from Sun Life to complete implementation.
Yes. General Agencies can access the enrollment tool once a sold case is ready to move forward.
Group insurance policies are underwritten by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada (Wellesley Hills, MA) in all states, except New York. In New York group insurance policies are issued by Sun Life and Health Insurance Company (U.S.) (Lansing, MI). Product offerings may not be available in all states and may vary depending on state laws and regulations.
