Mrs. Li is responsible for leading Sun Life International’s Risk Management and Actuarial functions ensuring compliance with all Sun Life policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Prior to joining Sun Life International in June 2024, Mei was the AVP, Business Unit Valuation Actuary (BUVA), where she was responsible for leading Sun Life U.S. Group Benefits and FullscopeRMS’ valuation and actuarial reporting functions.  Mei places a strong focus on the personal and professional development of her team and is a great advocate of lifelong learning.

Mei began her 20-year career with Sun Life as an Actuarial Associate and has taken on a variety of Actuarial roles with increased responsibility and seniority as she progressed in her career. She spent 13 years in various roles including Valuation, Pricing, and Projections for the Individual and Annuity business before she joined Group Valuation in 2017. 

Mei holds a Master of Science degree in Actuarial Science and is a Fellow of Society of Actuary (FSA) and member of American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).  

Mei lives in Bermuda with her husband and their dog. She enjoys running in marathons and travelling with her family.
