Giving back to the community
Asia Service Centre India was awarded the CSR Health Impact Award on July 7, 2017, in the category of Employee Volunteer Programs at the CSR Health Impact Awards. The award reflects how we truly make lives brighter through our employee volunteer initiatives with multiple non-profit organizations that have touched hundreds of homeless and underprivileged people. Some of the NGOs ASCI partnered with are Protsahan - helping to empower homeless children and young adolescent girls, Harmony House - supporting the welfare of underprivileged children, Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram - caring for elderly people. Desire Society - working for AIDS / HIV infected children.
Representatives of a number of well-known organizations attended the event. Gaurav Mishra, Chief Operations Officer, ASC collected the award on behalf of the ASCI CSR team and Sun Life.
Sudhir Singh, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Marg CompuSoft Pvt. Ltd and Kamal Narayan Omer, Director, Foundation for India Health & Wellness, presented the award.
ASCI amongst 100 best companies to work for women
Asia Service Centre India was recognized as the best company to work for Women by the 2017 Working Mother and AVTAR in September. The coveted ranking is in one of the largest annual study measuring work place excellence and gender inclusion in companies across spectrum of industries in India.
‘Best Companies for Women in India’ is now in its second edition and is the country’s largest gender analytics exercise. Over 250 companies were selected out of 360 companies to be assessed on a range of parameters pertaining to diversity, inclusion and flexibility for working women. The assessment was done by an acclaimed US based firm, Working Mother, that serves as a mentor and advocate for working mothers with successful professional careers along with its Indian partner AVTAR. A robust data-protected analytics tool was deployed to pick the 100 best.
Being one among the top hundred companies is a testament of our strong people policy in providing friendly, positive and a collaborative work environment for women.

Asia Service Centre India was recognized and certified as a Great Place To Work amongst the select few companies for the period of August 2017 to July 2018.
Every year more than 8000 organizations from over 50 countries partner Great Place To Work Institute for assessment, benchmarking, and planning actions to strengthen their workplace culture. Great Place To Work Certification Program is the first step for an organization in its journey to build a ‘high trust high performance culture’ and ASC India has successfully accomplished this milestone.

Learning & development of our employees is the Priority
Asia Service Centre India awarded in CII National HR Circle Competition in November 2017, for best practices in Performance Management and Training & Development.
Our Learning and Development team was placed second runner-up in the Performance Management, Training and Development category at the Confederation of Indian Industry - http://www.cii.in/Index.aspx national competition.
The award highlights how ASC India is fostering a learning culture aligned to Client 2020 and truly making lives brighter for Employees.
ASCI recognized with LOMA’s Excellence in Education award
ASC India was recognized amongst a select few companies to be awarded the LOMA’s Excellence in Education (EIE) Award last year in May, making us one of the top 66 companies in the world to accomplish this feat. ASCI competed with more than 1200 different organizations worldwide to secure this distinction.
The winners are short-listed by LOMA basis a number of criteria, which include 1) A minimum number of examination every year 2) An average score of 85% 3) A significant growth in LOMA certifications relative to the previous year
Our people across the ASCI undertook LOMA courses, taking the tally of certifications to a whopping 329 LOMA exams. Establishing us as a great place to learn and grow, and the sixth time winner of the Award.
ASCI technology sustains CMMI Services Maturity Level 3
The ASCI Technology team successfully re-appraised at CMMI services maturity Level 3 in April, 2017. CMMI services implementation has strengthened the ASCI as a Service Centre by standardizing the offshore processes. The re-appraisal journey has re-affirmed the effectiveness of our internal process improvement initiatives and determined our process strengths and improvement areas.
The re-appraisal was conducted over seven days through 16 interview sessions with 50 unique interviews across several engagements.
Sun Life named one of the 2018 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World
Sun Life Financial is one of the 2018 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World , as selected by Corporate Knights, a Toronto-based media and investment advisory company. Sun Life is one of only 4 Canadian companies across all sectors included in the ranking, and one of only 2 North American insurance companies to earn a spot among the 2018 Global 1001
Applying a data-driven approach, Corporate Knights assesses about 7,000 companies against global industry peers on a suite of up to 17 quantitative key performance indicators covering resource, employee and financial management, green revenue and supplier performance.

For the 9th year in a row, Canadians have voted Sun Life Financial the “Most Trusted Life Insurance Company” according to the 2018 Reader's Digest Trusted Brand™ Survey. Trust continues to play a major role in Canadian consumer purchasing decisions, and the Ipsos Reid poll, conducted on behalf of Reader's Digest, asked more than 4,000 Canadians to name the brand they trust most in 30 product categories.
Sun Life’s CEO named Canada’s Outstanding CEO for 2017
Our President and Chief Executive Officer, Dean Connor was selected Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year® for 2017.
The Outstanding CEO program has been in place for more than 25 years, with the honoree chosen by an Advisory Board of top Canadian business leaders. The award honours both Dean and the success of Sun Life.
The Advisory Board noted Sun Life's successful global business strategy and financial performance under Dean’s leadership and the agenda of digital transformation and innovation he has set to create better experiences for our Clients around the world.
Forrester’s Canadian Life Insurance Digital Sales Functionality Benchmark
Sun Life topped the first Canadian life insurance digital sales functionality benchmark by influential, research and advisory firm Forrester Research. We scored 75/100, compared with the industry average of 47/100, due to our ability to support Clients who prefer to buy online as well as those who prefer to work with an adviser.
Forrester rated Sunlife.ca’s life insurance experience on the basis of 35 criteria for desktops, tablets and mobile phones. It categorized the results under 3 stages: discover, explore and buy. We achieved a near-perfect score at the discover stage as our employees help Clients understand their life insurance needs by simplifying the sales process.
Canada’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens
The Corporate Knights magazine has included Sun Life in its list of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada once again. We were ranked 9th and were the only major life insurance company on the list. Sun Life has been included in 11 of the 15 annual lists published so far.
Dow Jones Sustainability Index – North America
Sun Life was listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for the 9th consecutive year in 2015. The index comprises the top 20% of the 600 largest North American companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index based on long-term economic, environmental, and social criteria.
Barron’s List of Top Mutual Fund Families
Sun Life’s investment subsidiary, MFS Investment Management, ranked 1st on Barron’s 2015 list of Top Mutual Fund Families on the basis of its five-year performance. It ranked 2nd on the basis of its 10-year performance and 5th for 1-year performance. This is the 8th consecutive year that Barron has included MFS in this list.
Corporate Governance: Globe and Mail’s Board Games
Sun Life ranked 1st in Globe and Mail’s business report, Board Games 2015. The report evaluated the boards of 234 companies and income trusts in the S&P/TSX composite index, as of 1 September 2015, to assess the quality of their governance practices. The assessment and scores are based on questions about board composition, including diversity policies and disclosure of term limits for directors, shareholding and compensation, shareholder rights and disclosure.
Brigitte Parent: Woman of Influence
Sun Life encourages women to be at the forefront of business. That is why, we felt very proud when Brigitte Parent, a senior leader in our Canadian business, was selected as a Woman of Influence by The Insurance & Investment Journal. Brigitte was recognized for her leadership and contributions to the goal of providing financial security to Canadians.
The journal listed the accomplishments of 50 of Canada’s most influential women in the life insurance industry.
Riza Mantaring: One of the 50 Most Inspiring Women in the Philippines
Riza Mantaring, President and CEO of Sun Life Philippines, is another Sun Life executive who is at the top of the career ladder. She was recognized as one of the 50 Most Inspiring Women in the Philippines by the Philippine center for entrepreneurship, Go Negosyo. The center labelled her as a leading “intrapreneur” – a corporate executive with an enterprising and entrepreneurial mindset.
Go Negosyo is a well-recognized organization that advocates entrepreneurship in the Philippines.
