Philanthropy program guidelines

We believe it is our responsibility to be good corporate citizens. Our philanthropy program has supported hundreds of registered charities and their various causes over the years, helping to improve the lives of individuals and families in the communities where we live, work and do business.

We selectively choose programs that represent our corporate values and strengthen our reputation among our employees, advisors and the communities we serve. And we only support organizations that provide their services or activities without regard to race, religion, creed, sex or sexual orientation.

While each of our countries of operation may support various causes, the majority of our philanthropic activities worldwide focus on health. Our regional locations have developed guidelines specific to their region:

"UHN has a proud history of exceptional diabetes care, research and education dating back almost a century, to Banting and Best's discovery of insulin. Sun Life Financial's support will help us prevent, manage and cure diabetes, by: promoting healthy lifestyles; developing interventions that improve quality of life; and discovering new treatments."

Dr. Robert S. Bell, President and CEO, UHN
