With extensive experience in analytics and actuarial science, Renee Shiller provides expertise and oversight within Sun Life’s Enterprise Risk Management and Actuarial frameworks. Overseeing the U.S. actuary and risk-management teams, she supports senior management with critical analysis and constructive challenge to ensure decisions are made with appropriate risk-driven considerations.

Renee has more than 15 years of industry experience, with a focus on actuarial and data analytics. She started her career in the insurance industry as an actuarial student, handling medical and disability pricing for Genworth Financial. She then came to Sun Life, where she held several actuarial roles, including actuarial director of Stop-Loss pricing. She then held the role of director of Analytics and Insights, for which she led and supported many data analytics initiatives, including the industry-leading annual Stop-Loss report on high-dollar claims and medical trends.

Most recently, Renee was head of Stop-Loss for FullscopeRMS, an affiliate company of Sun Life U.S. that specializes in turnkey reinsurance products.

Renee holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and architecture from Yale University. She is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
