Maxwell Health adds Sun Life Financial’s comprehensive product suite to its end-to-end employee benefits operating system

Wellesley, MA – (September 22, 2015) — The U.S. business group of Sun Life Financial announced a partnership today with Maxwell Health, bringing its comprehensive suite of group insurance and voluntary worksite products to Maxwell’s Private Exchange Marketplace. Sun Life’s offerings through Maxwell include voluntary short-term disability, long-term disability, life and accidental death & dismemberment, accident, and critical illness and cancer insurance products.

Maxwell Health is an end-to-end operating system for employee benefits, delivering “health as a service” to companies as small as just two employees across the country. Its paperless platform features an intuitive, lifestyle-based decision support and enrollment system, and an Android and iOS mobile app that engages employees after enrollment with streamlined 24x7 access to benefits information and resources—all within a modern user interface. The app also incorporates a turnkey wellness program that streams in data from leading fitness devices, providing contextualized feedback and wellness incentives. For HR teams, Maxwell provides a comprehensive HR and benefits administration solution, supporting complex benefits strategies for groups of any size with integrations to HRIS and leading payroll services.

Companies using Maxwell Health’s technology will be able to create customized, consumer-focused benefits strategies, combining Sun Life’s offerings with other employee benefits, including health and ancillary products, wellness programs, financial benefits and more.

Beyond providing benefits to meet the evolving needs of employers and their employees, Sun Life also supports customers in their benefits purchasing through cutting-edge educational tools. Sun Life’s Benefit Profile incorporates demographic analysis and benchmarking data into a single source to help employers build a stronger benefits package, while its What's your insurance persona? quiz helps consumers understand how different types of insurance can help them protect what they love about their lives.

“We continue to look for partners in the private exchange market who not only make it easy for employees to shop for benefits but who also empower them to make smart benefits decisions,” said Karen White, AVP of Health Care & Exchange Solutions at Sun Life. “Maxwell Health shares in these ideals, which is evident through its intuitive platform, holistic approach to bundling a wide spectrum of products, and educational content that extends well beyond enrollment.”

“As one of the most influential players in the industry, Sun Life is an incredibly exciting partner for us,” said Veer Gidwaney, CEO and Co-Founder at Maxwell Health. “Sun Life is a forward-thinking brand committed to simplifying the insurance consumer experience. This relationship will allow us to provide our customers with premier products that reach far beyond traditional employee benefit offerings.”
