Supporting our communities
Here in the US, numerous charitable organizations across the country have been on the frontlines of the pandemic. Whether its hospitals, community health centers, food banks, elder care services and more, the response to this crisis by our community members has been nothing short of incredible. As an employee benefits provider, we recognize the importance of healthy communities and want to do our part to support those organizations who are providing vital services to those in need.
Recently Sun Life announced $1mil CDN in global support to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of that commitment, Sun Life U.S. recently made 23 grants to local organizations to support ongoing relief efforts and services. Each organization is responding to the crisis in a meaningful way – whether it be providing home-delivered meals to the elderly, supporting healthcare workers with free childcare, or purchasing essential supplies and medical equipment, these organizations are making a direct impact on our local communities.

In addition to these grants, Sun Life continues to match employee contributions to local causes that they feel passionately about. We also understand that many community fundraising events have had to be postponed or have gone virtual – we’re still encouraging employees to participate in these events virtually where feasible, and supporting their efforts through additional funding from our Teams for Health program. Lastly, we are continuing to honor all of our financial commitments to our charitable partners for the remainder of the year.
