Illinois disaster notice for Illinois policyholders

For affected policyholders, effective immediately Sun Life will:

  • not issue any new cancellation/nonrenewal notices until September 30, 2017.
  • withdraw a cancellation/nonrenewal notices and reinstate the policy with no lapse in coverage for any notice of cancellation/nonrenewal that was mailed on or after July 12, 2017 and before September 30, 2017.
  • grant an extension of requirements that impose a time limit for an insured or claimant to perform any acts for a minimum of 60 days from the last date allowed or required under the terms of the contract or allowed or required by Sun Life.
