Senior Vice President, Group and Voluntary Business
Scott Beliveau is Senior Vice President, Group and Voluntary Business, Sun Life Financial U.S. Scott is responsible for the growth and profitability of the Group and Voluntary Life, Disability, and Worksite insurance products, including the successful integration of key capabilities and solutions from Sun Life’s acquisition of Assurant Employee Benefits. His leadership of the Group and Voluntary business encompasses the claims, underwriting, pricing, and product development and product management functions.
Previously, Scott was Vice President, Group Insurance, and Vice President, Stop-Loss, where he led Sun Life’s industry-leading medical stop-loss business. Scott has also served as Vice President, Underwriting and Claims, of the Employee Benefits Group, which spanned all product lines and market segments, and as Vice President, Multiline Products, of the Employee Benefits Group, which included accountability for the performance of the Group Life and Disability products. He has been with Sun Life Financial since 2004.
Scott began his career at Unum, and over the course of 30 years in the insurance industry has held leadership positions including Chief Operations Officer; Chief Marketing Officer; Vice President, Individual Product Management; and Vice President, Group Underwriting, as well as distribution management roles.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from the University of Southern Maine as well as an MBA. He is a founding board member of the Council for Disability Awareness, a board member for Maine & Company, and an active member of several industry organizations.
