The Sun Life Rotational Leadership Development Program (RLDP) provides the opportunity to gain diversified experience in an accelerated business-focused and leadership development program. Through three ten month rotations, these progressive roles provide you with critical thinking skills, business knowledge of the insurance and financial services industries, and a broad knowledge of Sun Life's products, customers and business strategy. The rotations also provide an introduction to Sun Life's Global Leadership Competencies, including self-management, influencing, problem-solving, adaptability and change management.
Assignments may be available in our core U.S. Group Benefits businesses; our life insurance and wealth management solutions business serving high net worth clients globally; or in our key business functions. Potential areas include Strategy, Distribution/Sales, Product Management, Finance, Advanced Analytics, Client Relationship Management, Underwriting, Information Technology, Marketing, Human Resources, Claims and Operations. Positions are based in the Sun Life Financial U.S. offices in Wellesley Hills, MA, Windsor, CT; Portsmouth, NH; Scarborough, ME; South Portland, ME; and Kansas City, MO.

What is the Rotational Leadership Development Program?
Sun Life offers 2 Rotational Leadership Development Programs. These programs develop the best talent in the industry. Through these programs, we hire a select group of graduates through our Business Leaders Internship Program and hope will become the future leaders of our business.
The Rotational Leadership Development Programs offer the opportunity to rotate through different roles within Sun Life. When you're hired into a program you'll start in one of our major locations. If you’re looking for a program that provides a thorough understanding of the financial services business and helps assess and define your career goals, consider the Rotational Leadership Development Program.
- Business Leaders
The Business Leaders RLDP develops future, cross-functional business leaders by providing meaningful career experiences, enabling participants to explore and become versatile, well-connected leaders. The rotations are through 3 different roles over a 3-year period.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for well-rounded students who have a track record of success as a team and/or project leader. To be successful as a future leader, you must have strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual-thinking skills, and you must be well organized. Successful candidates have varied experiences, perhaps through past internships or volunteer opportunities, and can embrace learning agility, ambiguity, and change.
At Sun Life Financial, we believe strong relationships are based on mutual understanding of each other. - Asset Management
The Asset Management RLDP offers the opportunity to rotate through three different roles within areas such as Private fixed income, public fixed income, real estate, mortgages, derivatives, bonds, trading, research, third party sales & service over a three-year period.

Who are looking for?
We are looking for well-rounded students who have a passion for the investment industry. To be successful as a future leader in the Asset Management rotation, you must have strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual-thinking skills, and you must be well organized. Successful candidates have much more than an interest in Asset Management, it’s an all-consuming passion for research, investigation and pitching ideas in a dynamic global business. You will have varied experiences, perhaps through past internships or volunteer opportunities, and can embrace learning agility, ambiguity, and change.
If you are in a Commerce or Business program that will be completed by the spring of the following year, you are eligible to apply for this program.
