Across Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Hong Kong, India, China, Indonesia and the Philippines, Sun Life employees and advisors are making their charitable mark. They make a difference by volunteering their time, talent and energy in many communities.
In the U.S., 57 employees of our subsidiary MFS raised US$367,256 by participating in the 2012 Pan-Massachusetts Challenge – a gruelling 307 km bike marathon that raises money for Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
In 2012, Sun Life Shining Action, an employee-advisor-client volunteer group in Hong Kong, continued its support of the Fresh Fish Traders' School.
In Canada, hundreds of employees and members of their families have raised more than $1 million over the past 9 years for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation through Run for the Cure. And in China, the Sun Life Everbright Walk Campaign (the SLEB Walk) continued to expand throughout the country, promoting a low-carbon, green and healthy lifestyle.
It’s about lending a hand, sharing values and making better communities.
In their own words
“Canadian Blood Services attributes our success to the ongoing generosity of our valuable corporate partners. Sun Life's financial gift to our ‘Campaign For All Canadians’ is vital as we continue to build our national public cord blood bank.”
