Sun Life Financial Senior Vice-President Gary Comerford receives 2008 President’s Award from Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce
Gary Comerford, Senior Vice-President, International, has been honoured with the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC)’s 2008 President’s Award for his role in strengthening the trade relationship between Canada and India. The award was presented on June 14 at the Chamber's Annual Awards Gala.

Sun Life Financial named Child-Friendly Company in the Philippines
For the second consecutive year, Sun Life Financial - Philippines (SLFP) has been recognized by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) as a Child-Friendly Company for supporting initiatives that benefit Filipino children, including:

Employee and advisor contributions for the Sun Life Village for Gawad Kalinga, a charitable organization that builds homes for the homeless.

Sikat Award for education

Health care programs (such as the annual bloodletting and vaccine discounted rates programs)

Summer family outings, the annual Halloween Trick or Treat and Christmas Gift Giving Day.
Recognition of the companies who qualified for this distinction was the highlight of the 29th National Conference of Employers “The Empowered Workplace” on May 14, 2008 in Manila.

Top 40 under 40TM award recipient – Sun Life Financial's CFO named one of Canada's Top 40 under 40TM
Chosen from over 1,500 nominees, Rick McKenney, Sun Life Financial's Chief Financial Officer, has been selected as a recipient of Canada's Top 40 Under 40TM award for 2007. Now in its 13th year, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40TM is a prestigious national award program, which annually honours 40 Canadians in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors under the age of 40.

Deputy Chief Executive, Financial Services of Birla Sun Life named one of the top 25 under 40 leaders in corporate India
Pankaj Razdan, Deputy Chief Executive, Financial Services for Aditya Birla Group, was named to Indian business magazine, Business Today's league of extraordinary managers as one of the top 25 under 40 leaders in India.
Pankaj joined the Aditya Birla Group nine months ago. As part of the company’s core think-tank, Pankaj will be working on strategies and operations to drive the Group’s growth in the financial services business. He will also be responsible for building potential new lines and overseeing some of the Group’s existing businesses. Before joining Aditya Birla, Pankaj was the managing director of Prudential ICICI Asset Management Company.

Sun Life Hong Kong receives Lipper Fund Awards
For the second consecutive year, the Rainbow 65-Sun Life Fixed Income Fund A has received the Best Hong Kong Dollar Bond Fund (3 years) in the Lipper Fund Awards Hong Kong 2008’s pension fund category. Out of six new funds added to Rainbow 65, the two funds from RCM, Mixed Asset HKD Balanced and Mixed Asset HKD Conservative, also won in the pension fund category. RCM also won the Best Equity Group Awards and the Best Mixed Asset Group Award in the MPF category.

On March 7, 2008, Birla Sun Life was awarded the prestigious “Mutual Fund House of the Year” at the CNBC TV18 – CRISIL Awards ceremony in Mumbai.
