Employee giving

Across Canada, the U.S., Hong Kong, India, China, Indonesia and the Philippines, Sun Life employees and advisors are making their charitable mark. They make a difference by volunteering their time, talent and energy to the communities where they live and work.

In the U.S., 37 employees of our subsidiary MFS raised US$270,216 by participating in the 2011 Pan-Massachusetts Challenge – a gruelling 307 km bike marathon that raises money for Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In 2011, Sun Life Shining Action, an employee-advisor-client volunteer group in Hong Kong, continued its partnership with the Fresh Fish Traders' School.

In Canada, hundreds of employees and members of their families have raised more than $1 million over the past 8 years for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation through Run for the Cure. And in China, employee volunteers helped plant approximately 300 as part of Sun Life Everbright’s Green China Campaign.

It’s about lending a hand, sharing values and making better communities.
