Executive Vice-President, Chief Human Resources & Communications Officer
Carrie Blair is responsible for Sun Life's human resources and communications strategy programs and governance.
Carrie’s mandate is to advance the talent, capabilities and culture of Sun Life’s workforce, enabling the company to deliver value on its brand promise to Clients, Employees and shareholders and to succeed in its growth plans.
Carrie has extensive experience aligning human resources programs, communications and the Employee experience with business goals. She joined Sun Life in May 2012 following 20 years at a major Canadian bank, where she served in many human resources functions, including leadership positions in Canada and the United States.
Originally from Winnipeg, Carrie holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University and a certificate in Training and Development from Ryerson University. She has also completed the Human Resources Executive Program at the University of Michigan.
Carrie serves as a Board member and Chair for the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) and acts as its Human Resources Advisor. She has also been a Committee Member for the 2008, 2012 and 2015 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference and is an alumna of the Commonwealth Study Conference.
